Philanthropy

It is so great to see how many of you have done philanthropic work. I think that donating your time is perhaps one of the greatest gifts you can give to another. It is ironic because the root of volunteer work is GIVING, but I think you get a lot in return- it builds character, raises awareness and makes you appreciate the people and opportunities that you have.

On a separate note- thank you for your cooperation today with the unexpected blackout on campus. For future reference, you can sign up to have alerts sent directly to your email or via text message on your phone. This is particularly helpful in the winter when the campus may be closed due to weather. Go to www.getrave.com/login/montclair to register.

  1. I agree with you. Philanthropic work builds a character and it indeed does make you appreciate the opportunities you have...I never really thought about that part until now.

You told me there are ways to donate while paying my bills, and I usually do if I see donating boxes in stores. I never ignore such advertisements because I care about those people in poor countries and the change that I put in my car would never be used for good...
